| Qualification & Experience: | Should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Library Science or similar subject. Can be a fresher or a talent with 6 months – 1 year experience in handling, metadata, cataloguing. Experience or ability to troubleshoot issues and interest to learn on technical aspects of the cataloguing process. |
| Role of Post: | Catalogue content to create MARC or other title records (copy cataloguing) and ensure appropriate subject classification for books and/or journals and videos. Use MARC rules, cataloguing rules, Library of Congress authority files, and Dewey Decimal System to create MARC records. Import records from various sources, following the rules of automated content ingestion, to maintain the catalogue. Use validation programs, following team documentation, in the quality assurance process. Assist in answering customer questions as needed. Develop an understanding of the products as well as the customers using those products and associated records. |
