| Job Description: | Develop and implement a strategic vision for library services aligned with the university’s mission and goals. -Establish and oversee policies, procedures, and standards for library operations. Promote the integration of digital and traditional resources to enhance access and usability. -Oversee the acquisition, cataloguing, and management of library collections, including print, digital, and multimedia resources. -Ensure the library’s collections are current, diverse, and relevant to academic and research needs. Manage the library budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources. -Lead, mentor, and manage library staff, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment. Plan and oversee staff training and development programs. Ensure appropriate staffing levels and roles to meet service demands. -Ensure the provision of high-quality services to students, faculty, and researchers. Develop programs to promote information literacy and research skills. -Actively seek feedback to improve user satisfaction and engagement. -Lead the adoption and implementation of emerging technologies to enhance library services. -Oversee the management of library systems, databases, and digital platforms. -Promote open access and institutional repositories to support research dissemination. -Ensure compliance with copyright laws, licensing agreements, and data privacy regulations. -Prepare and present reports on library performance, usage, and strategic initiatives. -Stay updated on trends and best practices in academic librarianship. -Oversee the maintenance and development of library facilities to ensure a conducive learning environment. -Plan for future space and infrastructure needs in alignment with university growth. -Any other tasks assigned by Vice Chancellor. |
| Experience: | Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in academic or research libraries, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management. |
